Chris Schmidbauer is entering his third year as the Sports Information Director at Owens Community College.

For the past eight years, Chris has worked for various media outlets in and around the city of Toledo. From 2009-2011, Chris served as the sports editor for the Toledo Free Press. He covered all types of athletics for the paper and he was also in charge of content for the sports section of the paper. Starting in 2010, he has broadcasted Whitmer Football on the radio. He started as a color analyst and moved over to play by play in 2014. Chris was also at Saline High School in Michigan in 2012 for a year calling football there as well, before returning to Whitmer High School.

Chris has also co hosted a morning talk show on Fox Sports Radio 1230 WCWA from 2009-2013, and he was also a part of a television show which aired on NBC 24 called the Tailgate Frenzy, which covered sports in and around Toledo.

From 2001-2005, he had the privilege of working with the Ohio State University Football Program as a student manager. Chris was a part of the 2002 National Championship team and he also was a part of the 2005 Big Ten Championship team. 

Chris graduated from the University of Toledo in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies and also gratuated with an Associate's from Owens in business in 2013. He currently resides in Toledo with his wife, Meghan, who is also an Owens Community College employee.
