Toledo, Ohio---The National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) has announced its final NATYCAA Cup standings of the year, and Owens Community College finished 33rd among all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) scholarship division schools.

The rankings are formulated by awarding NJCAA institutions with points based on finish at NJCAA championship events. A first place finish is worth 20 points, a second place finish is worth 19 points and so on.

Among 257 scholarship division schools across the NJCAA Division I and II levels, Owens placed 33rd on the strength of the performance of three teams - women's volleyball, women's basketball and men's golf.

In the men's division, Owens garnered 16 points for its fifth place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament, which tied the program's record for highest finish. In the women's division, Owens earned 28 points based on the strength of a fifth place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament by the women's basketball team, which was the program's second consecutive top five finish nationally, and a ninth place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament by the women's volleyball team, which was its second top 10 finish in the past four years.

Overall, Owens tallied 44 points, which was by far the highest total among all conference schools and the fourth highest in the region behind Lansing, Schoolcraft and Vincennes. The next closest conference school was Sinclair, who finished 109th in the nation behind a third place finish from its baseball team.
