Owens Baseball, Softball Programs Announce Weekend Changes

By Nicholas Huenefeld/Owens Sports Information

Toledo, Ohio---The Owens Community College baseball and softball teams have shuffled their weekend plans due to last night's thunderstorms.

The Owens baseball team (9-11, 2-6 OCCAC) originally planned on hosting Cuyahoga Community College in a four-game weekend conference series today and tomorrow. Yesterday, they pushed those games to Saturday and Sunday. Now, all four games will be moved to Genoa High School in Genoa, Ohio due to unplayable field conditions at Owens.

Each doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. Genoa High School is located at 2980 North Genoa Clay Center Road in Genoa, Ohio 43430.

The Owens softball team (11-11) had to cancel its doubleheader against Ohio Christian University scheduled for today. Originally, the doubleheader was supposed to be away. Due to bad weather at Ohio Christian, the games were moved to Owens, but those plans had to be scrapped once last night's storm hit.

Tomorrow's home doubleheader vs Mott Community College has been switched to a road doubleheader. The games will be held at Mott, which is located in Flint, Mich.

Sunday's home doubleheader against Macomb Community College is still on as of now. Those games are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
