FGCU women's basketball coach Karl Smesko announced Monday the addition of Sierra Harley to the program.

Harley, a junior transfer, will join the women's basketball for the 2015-16 academic year and will be eligible to play immediately.

She joins the Eagles from Owens Community College where she led the Express to a record of 34-2 as a freshman. The 5-8 guard hails from Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Columbus Africentric High School. She enters the fall with three years of remaining eligibility.

"Sierra has been a major part of excellent teams both in high school and junior college," Smesko said in a news release. "She had a tremendous freshmen year at Owens last season. Sierra is a good scorer and passer. She also has the ability to defend with pressure. We are excited to have her in our program."

While at Owens, Harley led the team in scoring with an average of 15.5 points per game and a success rate of 50.2 percent from the floor.
