David Whitmire begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Owens Express.  He is the head basketball coach at Springfield Middle School and was the head varsity baseball coach at Otsego High School for the past three years.  He served as the junior varsity baseball coach for Elmwood High School from 1993-95.  A graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education, he is working on a master's degree in educational administration at BGSU.  He also is the founder and president of the Northwest Ohio Amateur Baseball League and serves as the USSSA Baseball Northwest Ohio Area Director.
