Season Accomplishments: Most Improved Player and was ranked No. 3 in the conference for batting average (.466).

2000 Owens Honors: He was named Academic All-Conference and the Most Improved Player.

High School: Woodward High School, Toledo, Ohio, where he was All-City Second Team, All-State Second Team and the Mid-America Baseball Coaches Association All-District Honorable Mention, as a junior and senior.  He also was in cross country and wrestling and an honor student.
