Owens Career: In 2002, he led the team with 47 hits and 36 RBIs.  Valerius also scored 29 runs and compiled a .393 batting average.  His postseason accomplishments included receiving OCCAC First Team All-Conference honors and being named the team's Offensive Player of the Year.

High School: 1999 St. Francis de Sales High School graduate, Toledo, Ohio, where he was First Team and Second Team All-City and First Team All-District.  An All-Ohio Mizuno Team selection, Valerius was named the City League Player of the Year in 1999.
