Prior to Owens: Davis was a three-sport athlete at Romeo HS in Michigan where he played football, basketball and baseball. As a senior in baseball, Davis earned First Team All-Macomb Area Conference honors, as well as First Team All-District and Second Team All-County honors. Davis helped the team win a district title his senior year under coach T.J. Delamielleure, which he lists as his greatest personal sports thrill. During that senior year, he went 8-2 with a 2.67 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched. Offensively, he hit .301 with 20 runs, 25 hits, two doubles, one home run and 17 RBIs. As a member of the football team, he helped his team advance to the district championship game. Academically, he was named to the All-MAC Academic Team.

Personal: Dane is the son of Lance and Marcia Davis. He is a pre-business administration major at Owens.
