Prior to Owens: After graduating from Edgewood in 2010, Elder went to Olney Central College in Olney, IL. After redshirting his freshman year, he transferred to Owens in January 2012.

At Edgewood, Elder earned First Team All-FAVC honors his sophomore through senior years in football and baseball. As a sophomore in baseball, he earned First Team All-Area (Dayton-Cincinnati). While also playing basketball his final three years at Edgewood, Elder was the team captain as a junior and senior in baseball and the captain of his football team as a senior.

Personal: Elder is the son of Traci Harding. He has one brother, Johnathan, and he is a criminal justice major at Owens.
