2010-11: Heatherly hit .308 last year in 14 starts. In 39 at bats, he scored 11 runs, had 12 hits, two doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs. He slugged .590 and stole two bases, as well. Defensively, he had a .957 fielding percentage with only two errors while making 24 putouts and 21 assists. On the mound, Heatherly went 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA. In seven appearances and 9.1 innings pitched, he allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs while striking out 11.

Prior to Owens: Heatherly transferred to Owens after attending Saginaw Valley State University prior to his freshman season at Owens. He was a member of the baseball, hockey and tennis teams at Trenton. In baseball, he was All-Downriver League, All-District, All-State, and he was a member of the Dream Team. His team was regional runner-up, and he was team MVP. In hockey, he was part of the 25-1-4 state championship team in 2008. His greatest personal sports thrill was beating Midland in the state hockey championship and getting All-State honors in baseball.

Personal: Daniel is the son of David and Susan Heatherly. Two of his uncles, John and Dave Lewis, played football at Central Michigan University, and another uncle, Phil Lewis, played baseball at Ferris State University. He is a criminal justice major at Owens.
