Prior to Owens: Jones was selected by Hoosier Diamond magazine to the Preseason All-State team prior to his senior year at Columbus North, where he ended up going 6-3 with 69 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched. He also had a 0.98 ERA with 20 walks. Following the season, he pitched in the Mr. Baseball Classic and struck out three in two innings. As a senior, Jones was named the area's Player of the Year by The Republic newspaper, and he was also an All-Central Indiana Conference player for coach Brian Muckerheide. Academically, he finished in the top 15 percent of his class, was a National Honor Society member, a youth leadership member, and received an academic honors diploma.

Personal: Adam is the son of Pat and Angie Turner. He is an exercise science major at Owens.
