2012: Collins hit .236 as a freshmen with 25 hits, 12 runs, six doubles, 13 walks and seven RBIs. He added six stolen bases.

Prior to Owens: During the week of April 4, 2011, Collins was named the Patch Athlete of the Week primarily for his 4-for-4 game against Joliet Central where he had a triple, a double, two singles and four RBIs. He helped Rich Central win their first conference title in 22 years. As a junior, Collins hit .510 and led the team in RBIs. He was an All-Southland Conference selection in baseball and basketball, as well as an All-Area selection in baseball under coach Corey Stallings. He played for coach Corey Stallings at Rich Central.

Personal: Nick is the son of Romelle and Mia Collins. He has three siblings - Morgan, Lauren and Kirstyn.
