2012: Horvath was one of three members of the Express lineup to hit at least .300 last year. While finishing at .304, he also had 28 runs, five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 19 walks and 25 RBIs. He added 11 stolen bases. His home run total tied for the team lead, while he was second on the team in RBIs. He also played in a team-high 51 games.

Prior to Owens: Horvath was a four-year First Team All-Macomb Area Conference selection in baseball and football at Lamphere. In baseball, he also earned All-District honors all four years, while also being named All-Region and Second Team All-Michigan. He was the starting second baseman on the baseball team, a four-year starting QB on the football team, and a starting shooting guard for the basketball team. He played travel baseball for the South Oakland A's. As a senior football player, he had 1,500 yards passing and 15 touchdowns. Academically, he was a four-year member of the All-MAC Academic team. He played baseball for coach Adam Wooley at Lamphere.

Personal: Ryan is the son of Joe and Kris Horvath. He has one brother, Kyle.
