2012: Scott had a 1-4 record and an 8.27 ERA as a freshman. In 10 appearances, he allowed 49 hits and 21 walks while striking out eight over 32.2 innings.

Prior to Owens: Scott was a three-sport athlete at Genoa where he played baseball, wrestling and football. In football, he was named First Team All-Suburban Lakes League and First Team All-District, as well as Honorable Mention All-Ohio. As an outfielder for the baseball team under coach Dan Thompson, Scott earned Second Team All-SLL honors as a senior, as he hit in the third spot of the lineup and produced a .380 batting average.

Personal: Garrett is the son of Brett and Krista Scott. He has two siblings - Logan and Gabe. His father played baseball at Denison University from 1990-93 and is among the program's all-time leaders for career home runs with 19 and slugging percentage at .572. He is a pre-business administration major at Owens.
