Toledo, OH---Nick Morrow picked up the complete game victory in game two to help the Express baseball team pick up a split in today's doubleheader against Ashland University JV.

Game 1: Ashland University JV 1 Owens 0

The Express couldn't get much going offensively in a first game loss. They managed five hits (four from two players), as Ashland's Zach Wolfe threw a gem.

Wolfe allowed five hits and four walks while striking out six over seven innings.

Express starter Sean Koerber also pitched very well, despite the loss. In a complete game, he allowed only five hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. His only run given up was unearned.

The Express offense was led by Logan Shullick (2-for-3) and Anthony Perez (2-for-3)

Ashland's only run came in the fourth on a sacrifice fly. The Express had two runners on in multiple innings, but couldn't push any across.

Then, in the fifth, Perez scored on a failed pickoff attempt and Nolan Rao had a sacrifice fly to put the Express up 5-1.

The next half inning saw the only major hiccup for Morrow as he allowed three runs on a bases loaded walk and a two-run single.
