Vincennes, IN---Heading into the weekend, the Express baseball team was 12-27 and had lost six in a row and nine of their last 10. None of that matters now.

The Express picked up two victories on Friday over host Vincennes University and Cuyahoga Community College. After rain came all day Saturday and continued Sunday, the tournament became single elimination and the Express advanced to the Region XII tourney since they came out of the winner's bracket.

Cuyahoga was the regular season co-champions in the OCCAC, while Vincennes fell to the Express for the second straight year in the sub-regional.

The Express will open Region XII tournament play against Jackson Community College (23-15-2) on Wednesday at 12 p.m. The game will be held at Bailey Park's Nichols Field in Battle Creek, MI.

It is the program's first appearance in the Region XII tourney since 2009-10. Coincidentally, the Express opened the tournament that year against Jackson, a game in which they won 14-6. That game marked the last Region XII tournament win for the Express.

Should they win their first game, they would take on the winner of Lakeland Community College (21-21) and Delta College (26-17) at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland tied for the OCCAC title with Cuyahoga.

The Express are led by first-year head coach Devin Taylor.
