Livonia, MI---Justin Edmonds (Albion/Albion, Mich.) and James Kelly (Pioneer/Ann Arbor, Mich.) dominated the offensive end of the floor for the Express en route to an 85-70 win over Schoolcraft College on Friday.
Edmonds had a game-high 28 points, while adding five rebounds and four assists. Kelly was close behind in points with 26, while adding a game-high 15 rebounds. He also had three assists, one block and one steal.
Edmonds was 8-for-11 from the field, 3-for-5 from 3-point range and 9-for-9 from the foul line in 25 minutes of action. Kelly was 12-for-19 from the field and 2-for-4 from the foul line.
Jeremy Weemes (Springfield/Holland, Ohio), Jay Marquette (Central Catholic/Rossford, Ohio), and Jeff Burroughs (Belleville/Ypsilanti, Mich.) each added six points for the Express.
The Express shot 32-for-63 from the field, 8-for-21 from 3-point range and 13-for-16 from the foul line. Meanwhile, Schoolcraft finished 30-for-74 overall, 1-for-7 from 3-point range and 9-for-14 from the foul line. Owens held advantages in rebounds (41-38), assists (21-10), and blocks (2-1).
The Express outscored Schoolcraft 49-30 in the first half, while Schoolcraft outscored Owens 40-36 in the second half.
The Express are now 9-3 this year, while Schoolcraft falls to 6-3. Owens is now one win away from matching last year's win total, and their first chance to do that will come on the road in Flint, Mich., against No. 1-ranked Mott Community College next Wednesday.
