Centreville, MI---The Express lost 82-79 to Glen Oaks Community College in a back-and-forth game Saturday night on the road despite a big game from Justin Edmonds (Albion/Albion, Mich.).

Before the game started, the Express were hit with an administrative technical, and Glen Oaks hit both free throws to take a 2-0 lead. However, it energized Owens as the Express executed back-to-back alley-oop dunks from Edmonds to James Kelly (Pioneer/Ann Arbor, Mich.). The momentum continued as the Express held 17-point leads at the 10:45 and 9:30 marks.

However, Glen Oaks went on a 26-8 run to close the half and took a 42-41 lead into the break. An administrative technical was then issued to Glen Oaks to open the second half, and the Express took the lead back with two free throws from Edmonds. It would set the tone for the rest of the game, as it was back-and-forth until the end. Neither team led by more than three in the second half, while the game featured nine ties and 20 lead changes.

Edmonds fell one made 3-point field goal short of tying the school record for most in one game as he went 9-for-16 overall from the field and 7-for-12 from 3-point range. He was also 5-for-7 from the foul line and finished with 30 points, five assists, two rebounds and one steal.

Kelly produced a double-double for the Express as he had 17 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and one block.

The main reason the Express lost was because of the play of Karvel Anderson of Glen Oaks, who finished 14-for-25 from the field, 6-for-11 from 3-point range, and 3-for-3 from the foul line. He totaled 37 points, three assists and one steal. Aside from Anderson, Alandis Milligan had 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, while Khalid Jackson had 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Express fall to 8-3 this year, and their next game will be on the road Friday against Schoolcraft College beginning at 7:30 p.m. Glen Oaks moves to 6-3 with the win.
