Lansing, MI---Sophomore guard Justin Edmonds had 45 points and 19 rebounds off the bench to help the Express men pick up a pair of victories over Lansing Community College and Kellogg Community College this weekend.

On Friday, Edmonds shot 10-for-19 overall and 5-for-12 from three point range to help the Express to a 90-74 win over Lansing. He added nine rebounds, one assist and only one turnover.

Tony Boykins added a season-high 19 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists, while Joe Retic II added 10 points and two steals.

The Express won the game in large part due to their 3-point and foul shooting. As a team, they finished 10-for-26 from long range and 20-for-26 from the foul line, while Lansing only managed a 6-for-19 performance from long range and an 8-for-22 performance from the foul line.

Lansing was led by Tyrin Wade, who had 18 points, while Davario Gaines had 15 points and 11 rebounds. George Goodman (11) and Skyelar Moore (10) also scored in double figures.

On Saturday, the Express were led in scoring by Edmonds and James Kelly, who each had 19 points. Edmonds was 7-for-14 from the field and added a team-high 10 rebounds, while Kelly shot 9-for-12 from the field and added nine rebounds.

Andy Bachman contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Boykins had 10 points.

The Express trailed 38-37 at the break, but outscored the Bruins 46-28 in the second half. In that second half, the Express shot 20-for-29 (69 percent) from the field, while Kellogg only shot 11-for-35 (31.4 percent).

Kellogg was led by Nathan Taylor, who had 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Darius Holman had 18 points and Quincy Armstrong had 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Express (6-3) will travel to Delta College on Wednesday for their next game. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
