Retic Pours In 19, But Express Men Fall 76-68 to No. 4 Mott Bears on the road

Flint, MI---Joe Retic II led the Express with 19 points, but the Express men's basketball team dropped a 76-68 road decision to No. 4 Mott Community College on Thursday.

Mott opened the game on a 16-0 run before the Express closed the half on a 30-14 run to tie it up heading to the break.

The Express took a two point lead early in the second half, but Mott regained control until late when Retic hit a three with a couple minutes remaining to pull the Express within four. Mott bounced back once again as the Express couldn't get any closer down the stretch.

James Kelly added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Express, while Justin Edmonds had 13 points. Chris Wilson, who had a solid first half and helped the Express get back in the game, finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Retic added a team-high three assists, while Markese Allen had a team-high three steals.

Five players scored in double figures for the Bears - led by 19 points from Fred Mattison. Devin Foster and Kory Billups each added 12 points, while Chester McFadden and Chavis Mattison each had 11.

The Express are now 9-6 overall. They will take on Delta College on Saturday in the SHAC beginning at 3 p.m.
