Sophomore Guard, Murry, Captures OCCAC Player of the Week Honors

Toledo, Ohio---John Murry (North Central/Indianapolis, Ind.), a sophomore guard on the Owens Community College men's basketball team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) player of the week.

Murry had 27 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in an 88-79 win over Sinclair Community College this past Saturday. He was a critical part of the team's comeback from down 15 late in the first half.

Murry is averaging a team-high 19.5 points per game this year, while also totaling 6.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Owens is 13-4 overall and 1-0 in OCCAC play heading into Wednesday's 7:30 p.m. home matchup against Cuyahoga Community College. The game will be televised live on BCSN. 

Notes

This is the third time of the season that Murry has captured OCCAC player of the week honors. He previously won on Nov. 16 and Dec. 21.
