Toledo, Ohio---The Owens men's basketball team defeated Clark State Community College 112-61 in the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) today behind a single game record 22 3-pointers.

The performance shattered the previous mark of 17 set on Jan. 14, 2013 in a win over Washtenaw Community College.

Dilyn Good (Springfield/Holland, Ohio), who produced five 3-pointers in the first half, opened the game with back-to-back makes from long range.

Moments later, a 3-pointer from Derrik Jamerson Jr. (Cornerstone/Pontiac, Mich.) gave Owens an 11-0 lead before James Bailey threw home a dunk for Clark State's first points of the game with 16:55 left in the half.

With 12:16 left, Jamerson hit another 3-pointer, followed by a three point play from Xavier Cochran (Huron/Ypsilanti, Mich.) and a 3-pointer from Good to complete a 9-0 run and give Owens a 30-15 lead.

A short time after a Jamichael Blanton layup pulled Clark State within 10 with 6:31 left, Owens went on a 12-0 run to open up a 52-31 lead. Blanton ended the run with a jumper, but Cochran made a pair of free throws and Good hit his fifth 3-pointer of the half to open up a 57-35 lead at halftime.

Tariq Scott (R.J. Reynolds/Winston Salem, N.C.) converted a layup with 15:25 left to push the lead to 30. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Ty'Rese Searles (Cornerstone/Pontiac, Mich.) and Roy Hatchett Jr. (Glenville/Cleveland, Ohio) then completed a 14-0 run to make it 85-43 with 12:30 left.

A corner 3-pointer from Scott helped Owens cross the century mark in scoring with 4:53 left, and Owens closed the game on a 15-0 run over the final five minutes.

In the second half, Owens almost shot as well as they did through the first 20 minutes by going 20-for-33 overall (60.6 percent), 10-for-18 (55.6 percent) from 3-point range and 5-for-5 from the foul line.
