Hilliard, Ohio---Luke Mayer, a 6'8" forward from Hilliard Davidson in Hilliard, Ohio, recently signed a letter of intent to become the latest member of the 2016-17 Owens Community College men's basketball recruiting class.

Mayer joins Jalen Huff, a 6'5" wing from Dwyer High School in West Palm Beach, Fla., who will transfer to Owens from NAIA Indiana Tech University, as one of two members so far in next year's haul.

"Luke is someone who we targeted early on and believe is a perfect fit for what we need," said Owens Community College head men's basketball coach Dave Clarke. "He is a 6'8" athletic and agressive post player who has a high ceiling on the basketball court. Also, he's a great overall kid academically and comes from a strong family background."

As a senior, Mayer averaged 10.1 points and 5.9 rebounds en route to Honorable Mention All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) - Central recognition. He scored 16 points in the team's opening postseason game en route to a district championship game appearance before his team finished 14-12 overall.
