Express Can't Close Out Lorain

Toledo, OH -- After taking a one point lead to the locker room, the Express Men's Basketball team could not hold their narrow margin in the second half, as the Lorain Commodores dispatched Owens 87-71. 

Owens caught fire after the opening tip, shooting 53.6% from the floor and 61.5% from three during the games first 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the Express came back to earth, as the Commodores had the hot hand in the second half. 

Owens was led in scoring by Aamir Doss, who was 6-13 from the floor, including 3-6 from three. He also was 7-8 from the free throw line. Solomon also tied for the team lead in rebounds with eight and he had the team lead in assists with five. 

Jordan Grayson had the hot hand from beyond the arc, draining five threes on seven attempts. Ka'Von Gainer shot 50% from three and he had 17 points for the Express.

Owens finished the game shooting 41.4% (24-58) from the floor and 48.1% (13-27) from three. The Express also shot 76.9% from the free throw line. 

Lorain forced seven turnovers in the game and they only turned the football over twice during the game. 

Owens falls to 1-6 overall on the season and they are 0-1 in the OCCAC.

The Express are in action Sunday afternoon against Rock Valley. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 PM at the SHAC.
