2010-11: Of the three returning sophomores, Simmons had the best average last season with a 77.2. He was named Second Team All-OCCAC and earned the team's Best Newcomer Award last year.

Prior to Owens: Simmons came to Owens as the 2009-10 player of the year in the Suburban Lakes League. He captured First Team All-Suburban Lakes League honors and Second Team All-District honors his senior year. Additionally, the honor roll student won First Team All-SLL his sophomore and junior years. He lists his greatest personal sports thrill as going to the state tournament under the tutelage of head coach Tom Pickerel.

Personal: Kyle is the son of Don and Ardella Simmons. He is an electircal electronics technology major at Owens.
