Defiance, OH---The Express golf team captured first place in the Defiance College Invitational today. It was their first invite title since capturing the Owens Invitational in the spring of 2010.

Darren Gessner led the Express with a 75, while Kyle Simmons shot a 77. Other Express scores included: Cleo Trumbull and Conor Totzke each with 78,  Greg Hermes with a 79 and Luke Berger with an 81.

Gessner's 75 was the second lowest score among all golfers in the invitational. Justin Epure from Tiffin University shot a 72.

Owens finished with a team score of 309, while Tiffin University was just behind with a 311. Other team scores were 313 for Trine University and 322 for Defiance College.
