Prior to Owens: Hoelzer was the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) Player of the Year, the district champion, and a state tournament qualifier as a senior at Fremont Ross.

Personal: Brandon is the son of Mike and Melanie Hoelzer. He has four siblings - Amanda, Riki, Elyse and Nick.
