Toledo, Ohio---Will Mullins (St. Bernadette's/Bristol, U.K.) fired a second round 70 to help lead the Owens Community College men's golf team to a third place finish in the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Invitational today.

After a first round 291, Owens shot 294 in the second round for a two-round total of 585, which put them 9-over par as a team. They finished just two strokes behind second place Trine University, who improved their first round score by seven strokes today. Calvin College, the leader through one round, improved its first round score by four strokes and finished with a tournament low 574 (2-under).

Bandit Chaisuk (Nong Khai, Thailand) shot a 76 and Wyatt Spalding (Summerfield/Petersburg, Mich.) added an 82 in the second round.

For Mullins, his two-round total of 142 (2-under) was good for a fifth place tie. Quirk's 146 (2-over) gave him a tie for ninth place. DiGiacomo and Chaisuk each finished in a tie for 20th place.

Karit Kitipongpatana (Bangkok, Thailand), who shot a first round 68 as an individual for Owens, shot a 76 today and finished alone in eighth place with an even par 144.

The other individual for Owens, Dylan Holsclaw (Plainfield/Plainfield, Ind.) shot a second round 72 and finished tied with DiGiacomo and Chaisuk for 20th place.

This year's tournament, which was held at the Battle Creek Country Club, ended a two-year winning streak for Owens, which finished in first place the past two years and third place three years ago.

Owens will be back in action Sept. 15 in the Jon P. Spiess Memorial at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon, Ohio. Owens won the tournament last year after Harrison Long (Wilnecote/Tamworth, U.K.) shot a tournament record 67 (5-under).
