Wauseon, Ohio---The Lourdes University men's golf team edged Owens Community College by one stroke for first place in the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Invitational today at Ironwood Golf Course.

The nearly all international Owens starting lineup finished second with a 296, just one behind the 295 from Lourdes.

The runner-up team was led by Will Mullins (St. Bernadette's/Bristol, United Kingdom) and Dominic DiGiacomo (Ocean City/Ocean City, N.J.), who each shot a 73. Bandit Chaisuk (Nong Khai, Thailand) and Karit Kitipongpatana (Bangkok, Thailand) each added a 75, and Harrison Quirk (Wilnecote/Tamworth, U.K.) had a 78.

Wyatt Spalding (Summerfield/Petersburg, Mich.) and Dylan Holsclaw (Plainfield/Plainfield, Ill.) added a 74 and 84, respectively, as individuals.

Former Owens golfer Riley Robinson led Lourdes to a first place finish by shooting a 72 and tying for his team low. Austin Walker of Jackson College shot a 71 for first place overall individually, while Robinson and Ben Torchia of Lourdes came in second.

Mullins and DiGiacomo tied three others for fourth place. Spalding tied four others for ninth. Chaisuk and Kitipongpatana tied five others for 14th place.

Tournament host Defiance College shot a 306 to finish fourth. The tournament featured 10 teams overall.

Owens will be back in action this Saturday and Sunday in the Heidelberg University Fall Invitational at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin Ohio.
