Mullins, DiGiacomo Finish In Top 5, Lead @OwensExpress Men's Golf To Second Place Finish In Heidelberg Invitational

Tiffin, Ohio---Will Mullins (St. Bernadette's/Bristol, United Kingdom) fired a two-round score of 150 to lead the Owens Community College men's golf team to a second place finish in the Heidelberg Fall Invitational today.

The 77-73-150 by Mullins was good for third place individually, while Owens shot a 312-300-612 as a team to finish five strokes behind first place Ohio Northern University. The second round 300 for Owens was the lowest score among all teams in the second round.

Finishing just behind his teammate Mullins was Dominic DiGiacomo (Ocean City/Ocean City, N.J.), who shot a 79-73-152 for a fourth place tie. 

In all, Owens had six golfers finish in the top 20. Karit Kitipongpatana (Bangkok, Thailand) shot a 79-76-155 for eight place. Dylan Holsclaw (Plainfield/Plainfield, Ind.) improved his first round score by 10 strokes to shoot 83-73-156 and finish in a tie for ninth.

The other two to finish in the top 20 were Bandit Chaisuk (Nong Khai, Thailand) and Harrison Quirk (Wilnecote/Tamworth, U.K.), who each tied for 17th place. Chaisuk shot a 77-81-158 and Quirk shot an 80-78-158.

The seventh and final player for Owens, Wyatt Spalding (Summerfield/Petersburg, Mich.), shot an 82-80-162 for a 25th place tie.

Ohio Northern's Tyler Davis shot an even par 72-72-144 to capture first place individually. Lourdes University finished at 625 to finish third behind Ohio Northern and Owens.

Owens will be back in action Oct. 16-18 in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament Preview Invitational. It will be the final action of the fall season unless anything changes between now and then.
