Dermot Forde also returns for his fourth season with the Owens soccer program as the assistant coach. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, he moved to the United States in 1985. At Middlesex Community College, Middletown, Conn., he was a two-year starter at sweeper and was named the school's Defensive Player of the Year in 1986. After graduating from Middlesex in 1987, he attended St. Bonaventure University in 1989 and earned a degree in mass communications. He also was a two-year varsity starter and team captain his senior year. From 1990-92, he served as assistant men's soccer coach at Ashland University. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1992 with a master's degree in College Student Personnel. He is the Student Life Coordinator at Owens.
