Men's Soccer Comeback Falls Short in NJCAA Region XII Quarterfinal

- The Express men's soccer team saw their season come to an end Wednesday with a 3-2 loss to Jackson Community College in a Region XII quarterfinal matchup at the Owens Soccer Field.

Nickyle Webber (Cornwall College/Trelawny, Jamaica) put the Express up early with an unassisted goal 5:09 into the game. However, Jackson tied the match up at the 35:55 mark. The game remained tied at one heading into the half.

Then, Jackson scored back-to-back goals at the 59:03 and 64:29 marks to take a 3-1 lead. Ababacar Ndoye (Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, Mich.) then scored for the Express at the 72:27 mark on an assist from Webber, but Owens couldn't tie it up.

Jake Olman (Maumee/Maumee, Ohio) started in goal for the Express and saved nine shots on goal.

Owens finishes the season 13-8 overall. It is the fourth most wins in a single season for the Express men's soccer program.
