The Express Roll To Third Straight Win at Lakeland

- The Owens men's soccer team won its third straight match Wednesday with a 6-2 defeat of Lakeland Community College on the road.

Novak Vuk Janicic (Elektro Technicka Skola/Belgrade, Serbia) and Nickyle Webber (Cornwall College/Trelawny, Jamaica) each scored two goals, while Ababacar Ndoye (Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Juavanie Cole (Coconut Creek/Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) each tallied one goal.

Alec Smith (Perrysburg/Perrysburg, Ohio) led the team with three assists, while Leyton McKay-Ellison (St. Margaret's Church of England/Liverpool, United Kingdom) had two assists. AJ Klever (Northview/Sylvania, Ohio) had the other assist.

Jake Olman (Maumee/Maumee, Ohio) started in goal for the Express and saved four shots. With the win, the Express improved to 12-6 overall and surpassed their win total from last season when they finished 11-10.

The Express are 9-5 in Region XII. They have two more regular season matches left - the first being Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Jackson Community College in Jackson, Mich. Then, the team will travel to Livonia, Mich., to take on the undefeated and No. 1-ranked team in the nation, Schoolcraft College, at 1 p.m.
