Balanced Attack leads Express to 4-0 win over Delta

- Following a disappointing 5-0 loss to No. 2 Cincinnati State on Saturday, the Express bounced back with a 4-0 win over Delta College on Sunday in a matchup at Lake High School.

Against Delta, four different players put one in the net. Jauvanie Cole (Coconut Creek/Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) staked the Express to a 1-0 lead at the 21:03 mark on an assist from Troy Thompson (Anthony Wayne/Whitehouse, Ohio). Then, Novak Vuk Janicic (Elektro Technika/Belgrade, Serbia) put the Express up 2-0 at the 42:30 mark on an assist from Ababacar Ndoye (Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, Mich.)

Kyle Whitmore (Start/Toledo, Ohio) scored the third goal for the Express unassisted at the 76:49 mark before Chris Kervick (De La Salle College/Waterford, Ireland) scored on an assist from Alec Heifferon (Anthony Wayne/Whitehouse, Ohio) at the 84:22 mark.

Jake Olman (Maumee/Maumee, Ohio) started in goal both games for the Express. He stopped 10 shots on goal on Saturday and seven on Sunday. Jeff Cooperider (Northview/Sylvania, Ohio) relieved Olman and entered as goalie in the 75th minute on Sunday.

The Express (3-3) will now travel to Parma, Ohio to take on Cuyahoga Community College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
