Toledo, OH---Juavanie Cole has been named the OCCAC Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30.

The sophomore midfielder tallied five goals over two games this past weekend to help the No. 15 Express men's soccer team improve to 9-2-1 overall.

"Juavanie gives us good balance at the outside mid position, and he is a great complement to our inside scorers," said Express men's soccer head coach Art Johnson. "He's equally happy with a goal or assist, and he is a great teammate."

Against Muskegon Community College on Saturday, Cole scored three goals as the Express won 6-1. Then, on Sunday, Cole scored two more goals in a 12-0 win over Lorain County Community College.

He improved his season goal total to six, which ties him with Derrick Skillman and Nickyle Webber for second on the team. Meanwhile, his five assists are second on the team to Webber's 11.

The announcement marks the fourth time in five weeks that an Express men's soccer player has captured player of the week honors as Glenroy Miller earned the award the first three weeks of the season. Joshua Kleinow was also named OCCAC Goalkeeper of the Week once earlier this season.

Cole and the Express return to action on Wednesday against Cuyahoga Community College beginning at 4 p.m. in Cleveland, OH.
