Cole Doubles Up, Wins NJCAA D-I Player Of The Week Honors

Toledo, OH---Juavanie Cole was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-I Player of the Week on Wednesday for the week ending Sept. 30.

The sophomore midfielder was earlier named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week.

Cole scored five goals as the No. 15 Express won two games during the week by a combined score of 18-1. On Sept. 29, Cole's hat trick led the Express to a 6-1 win over Region XII foe Muskegon Community College.

He then scored two more goals in a 12-0 win over Lorain County Community College on Sunday.

Cole celebrated the honor yesterday by scoring one goal and adding two assists in a 9-2 win over Cuyahoga Community College.

The Express (10-2-1) will take on Ancilla College at home beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday followed by a 1 p.m. home matchup against Muskegon Community College on Sunday.
