2-0 Loss To Cincinnati State In Region XII Semifinal Ends Season For Express Men

Muskegon, MI---Riding the momentum of their 4-1 win over the Express to end the regular season, Cincinnati State defeated the Express 2-0 today in the Region XII semifinal.

Justin Mitchell scored both goals for Cincinnati State. He put his team up 1-0 just six minutes into the match. The Express had a chance to tie the game in the 64th minute, but Nickyle Webber missed a penalty kick. The resulting momentum turned into another goal from Mitchell in the 70th minute.

The Express end their season with a 14-6-1 overall record.

Notes

Postseason awards in the OCCAC and Region XII will be announced early next week.

Schoolcraft College defeated Muskegon Community College 2-1 in the other semifinal. Thus, Schoolcraft will take on Cincinnati State in the Region XII finals at 12 p.m. tomorrow.

All matches are being held at Grand Haven HS in Muskegon, MI.
