Toledo, OH---Sophomore forward Glenroy Miller has been named an NJCAA D-I Second Team All-American.

He becomes only the second Express men's soccer player to capture All-American honors since the program began in 1998 (Sean Bucknor, First Team, 2006 and 2007).

"His experience and play on the field was very instrumental in us achieving the goals we had," said Express men's soccer head coach Art Johnson. "Especially with the injury we had to Novak (Vuk Janicic), he put a lot of responsibility on his shoulders."

As a sophomore, Miller finished third in the nation in goals scored with 26, while adding four assists. His goal total was the third most in a single season in program history. He was named OCCAC Player of the Week four times (Sept. 2, Sept. 9, Sept. 16 and Oct. 14), and he also captured First Team All-OCCAC, First Team All-Region, OCCAC Offensive Player of the Year and OCCAC Player of the Year honors.

Also during his sophomore campaign, Miller had nine games of at least two goals and two games of three goals. He had seven game winning goals, including the game winner in the 83rd minute against Muskegon on Oct. 7 and the game's only goal in an upset of No. 5 Schoolcraft College on Oct. 10.

Prior to taking a year off in 2011, Miller led the team in goals scored (16) and tied for second in assists (5) in 2010. He was second on the team in scoring with 37 points. He was named the team's Offensive MVP, Second Team All-OCCAC and Second Team All-Region XII.

Miller finished his career with 42 goals and 11 assists, which gives him the third most career goals and the third most career points in program history.

"We needed more from him than we originally thought," Johnson said. "Earlier in the year, he took it upon himself to lead the team. He was a big part of our success, especially with us winning the Lincoln Land tournament and being ranked 15th."

The Express men's soccer team finished 14-6-1 this past season. They captured the program's first ever OCCAC championship with a 5-1 record in conference play. Their season ended with a 2-0 loss to Cincinnati State in the Region XII semifinals.
