Bowling Green, OH---Juavanie Cole, a sophomore midfielder for the Express men's soccer team, has signed to play at Bowling Green State University next season.

"In Juavanie we see a player who has the tools to step in and help from day one," said BGSU head men's soccer coach Eric Nichols via BGSUFalcons.com. "He has a nice blend of technique and physicality to his game, which will translate well to the Mid-American Conference."

Cole, who earned First Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and First Team All-Region XII honors this past season, was the team's third leading scorer as a sophomore. He had eight goals and nine assists, including one goal and six assists in OCCAC play.

Following the OCCAC season, Cole was also named the OCCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

During the season, he was named OCCAC Player of the Week and NJCAA D-I Player of the week on Sept. 30.

As a freshman, Cole had three goals and six assists en route to Second Team All-OCCAC honors.

In two years, Cole helped lead the Express to a 27-14-1 record, which marked the best two-year stretch in program history since 2004-05. Individually, Cole posted career totals of 11 goals and 15 assists, which gives him the seventh highest career assist total in program history.

Cole, who becomes the second Express men's soccer player to move on to BGSU in the past three years (Rodcliff Hall), is a graduate of Coconut Creek High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. During his time there, he played for former BGSU men's soccer student-athlete Bob Gofus.

BGSU is a member of the Mid-American Conference and plays at the NCAA Division I level. This past season, the Falcons finished 8-9-3 overall, which marked the program's highest win total and winning percentage since 2003.
