Jarrar Continues Fine Play, Leads Express Past Cuyahoga 8-2

Toledo, OH---Ahmad Jarrar scored twice, while assisting on two other goals as the Express men's soccer team carried a second half surge to an 8-2 win over Cuyahoga Community College today.

Jarrar produced the lone first half goal for the Express as they were knotted up at one with the Challengers at the break. Richard Vanhorne tallied the lone goal for the Challengers, who briefly (just less than two minutes) held a lead. 

In the 49th minute, Jacob Martin broke the tie with a header into the right corner of the net off a corner from Agustin Bonjour, who picked up the assist. Bjion Campbell (50:55) and Jarrar (57:27) then scored two more goals to make it 4-1.

Adam Tepper pulled the Challengers within two with his team's second and final goal at the 69:08 mark before the Express exploded offensively with four goals in four minutes

Vijay Gentles (74:20) scored the first of those four, followed by Campbell (74:48), Jamison Foos (76:34) and Austin Combs (78:41). 

Jarrar assisted on both goals by Campbell, while Martin assisted on the goal by Gentles.

Mike Jeremic picked up both assists for Cuyahoga.

Joshua Kleinow started in goal for the Express and played the first half. He made four saves before Ryan Wicher replaced him for the second half. He made one save. 

Jeremiah Carsten went the distance in goal for the Challengers. He made nine saves.

Notes

The Express are now 12-4-1 overall and 4-0-1 in OCCAC play. Their next game is Saturday at 1 p.m. vs Jackson College at home. Following that, they will travel to Cincinnati State for an OCCAC title showdown. Both teams are 4-0-1 in OCCAC play with just that game remaining in OCCAC play. Each team's tie came against each other.

Jarrar now has six goals in OCCAC play, which is one off the mark for most goals in the conference. With his two goals today, he now has nine goals overall this year and five goals in the team's past four games. He pushed his season assist total to four today. Jarrar also has four goals against Cuyahoga this year.

Campbell now has 10 goals this year...Gentles has eight goals and 12 assists...Martin has 12 goals and four assists...Combs has four goals...Foos has three goals...Bonjour's assist was his fourth of the season.
