Despite Jarrar's Goal, Owens Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 To No. 7 Cincinnati State

Cincinnati, Ohio---The Owens Community College men's soccer team out-shot No. 7 Cincinnati State 16-8, but came away with a 2-1 road loss in each team's Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) opener.

In the first half, Cincinnati State took a 2-0 lead via goals from Mohamed Thiaw and Tyler Gumbert, while Owens had three shots of their own hit off the crossbar.

Ahmad Jarrar (Hendersonville/Hendersonville, N.C.) gave Owens hope early in the second half as he scored just seconds into the frame unassisted.

Owens (1-1) will host two games this weekend. On Saturday, they will take on Lake Michigan College at 1 p.m. before hosting Muskegon Community College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Notes

Jarrar's goal gives him three on the year, which ties him for the team lead. He also has two assists.
