Ancilla College Takes Down Owens 3-2 Despite First Career Goal From Dingwall

Donaldson, Ind.---Ancilla College won a second half scoring duel as the Owens Community College men's soccer team fell 3-2 on the road today.

A scoreless game at halftime, the second half featured five goals within five minutes of each other.

After Ancilla took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, Michael Dingwall (Riverdale/Lehigh Acres, Fla.) answered back five minutes later. The goal, assisted by Ahmad Jarrar (Hendersonville/Hendersonville, N.C.), was the first of the season for the freshman.

A short time later, Ancilla produced back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 lead before Austin Combs (Anthony Wayne/Maumee, Ohio) later scored via a penalty kick to produce the game's final margin.

Ryan Wicher (Whitmer/Toledo, Ohio) started in goal for Owens.

Owens (5-3-1) will travel to No. 10 Schoolcraft College for a 4 p.m. matchup this coming Wednesday. Today marked the beginning of a tough four-game road stretch for Owens.

Ancilla, meanwhile, improves to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in Region XII play. Owens is 4-3 in Region XII play after today.

The goal by Combs was his sixth of the season. He is now alone in second in goals scored on the team. The assist for Jarrar was his fourth of the season.
