Owens Men's Soccer Shut Out 1-0 By No. 6 Schoolcraft

Livonia, Mich.---The Owens Community College men's soccer team dropped its second straight game with a 1-0 loss on the road to No. 6 Schoolcraft College, who remained undefeated with the win.

Owens actually out-shot Schoolcraft 16-13, but only put two of those 16 shots on goal compared to 8-for-13 for Schoolcraft.

Schoolcraft's Jeff Drzyzga scored the game's lone goal at the 40:01 mark.

Matt Almester (St. John's Jesuit/Toledo, Ohio) led Owens with four shots (one on goal), while Ahmad Jarrar (Hendersonville/Hendersonville, N.C.) and Trae Green (Blessed Pope John Paul II C.S.S./Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) each had three shots.

Talal Farhan (Whitmer/Toledo, Ohio got the start in goal for Owens and saved seven shots on goal. Andres Hernandez started for Schoolcraft and made two saves.

Owens fell to 5-4-1 this year with the loss. They have dropped three of their past four, and they will next see the field Oct. 4-5 with road trips to Lake Michigan College and Muskegon Community College.
