Toledo, Ohio---Matt Almester (St. John's Jesuit/Toledo, Ohio), a redshirt freshman forward for the Owens Community College men's soccer team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week.

Almester carried the Express to a 3-2 win over Lake Michigan College on the road Saturday. He scored his team's second goal of the game, and then scored the game winning goal, unassisted, just two minutes into overtime.

Almester leads Owens in scoring with 10 goals and three assists this year.

Owens (7-4-1) is scheduled to host Lakeland Community College on Wednesday at 5 p.m. before hitting the road for back-to-back games against Monroe Community College at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Mercyhurst North East Community College at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
