Toledo, Ohio---Lake Michigan College's men's soccer team scored three unaswered goals in the second half and overtime to defeat Owens Community College 4-3 in a Region XII quarterfinal matchup at Owens today.

With the loss, Owens finishes its season 12-8-1 overall. Lake Michigan improved to 9-10-1 overall.

The game featured a strong wind, which favored Owens in the first half. In the second half and overtime, though, Lake Michigan had the wind - and it played a huge factor in today's outcome.

Trae Green (Blessed Pope John Paul II C.S.S./Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) opened the game's scoring at the 15;24 mark as Owens took an early 1-0 lead.

However, Lake Michigan answered back just 12 seconds later as Jose Perez scored one of his three goals at the 15:36 mark.

Owens got back-to-back goals within a 13 second span later in the half. Green scored his second goal on a second assist from Agustin Bonjour (Purificacion No. 28/Montevideo, Uruguay), and then Joseph Adby (York College/York, North Yorkshire, England) headed a ball in off a corner kick from Ahmad Jarrar (Hendersonville/Hendersonville, N.C.) to give Owens a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Perez, though, scored two goals in the second half to tie it. The first came 4:47 into the second half, while his third goal came at the 85:23 mark.

After winning the coin toss and taking the wind advantage, Fraser Barlow scored just 1:14 into the overtime period to advance Lake Michigan to the semifinals on Saturday.

Ryan Wicher (Whitmer/Toledo, Ohio) made nine saves in goal for the Express.

Green closes his season with four goals after his two today, while Bonjour finished with five assists. Jarrar finished the season with 12 assists to go along with his 13 goals.
