Toledo, Ohio---Bjion Campbell (Coconut Creek/Margate, Fla.), who played for the Owens Community College men's soccer team in 2013 and 2014, has signed with NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University.

Campbell stayed at Owens Community College last year and took a student assistant role with the men's soccer team, which finished 14-7-2 overall and a few penalty kicks away from a Region XII championship.

While playing for Owens, Campbell had a stellar career with 18 goals and 14 assists. As a sophomore, he was named First Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and Second Team All-Region XII after netting six goals and 10 assists.

"(Bjion) is a very technically gifted player with a good athletic frame, with a knack for scoring goals, as well," said SVSU head men's soccer coach Andy Wagstaff via ValleyVanGuardOnline.com.

As a freshman, he produced 12 goals and four assists while starting every game. He had a three-goal game on Aug. 25 vs Muskegon and a two-goal game on Oct. 16 vs Cuyahoga. Following the season, he was named Second Team All-OCCAC and made the Region XII All-Tournament team.

Prior to his career at Owens, Campbell had 16 goals and 10 assists as a senior at Coconut Creek High School in Florida.

Campbell becomes the 29th Owens men's soccer player in program history to sign with a four-year school, including the seventh at the NCAA Division II level.

Saginaw Valley State University finished 15-4-1 overall last year, including a 12-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). They advanced to the semifinals of the GLIAC tournament and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the second round.
