Toledo, Ohio---Cooper Huslig (Mountain View/Tucson, Ariz.), a sophomore defender for the Owens Community College men's soccer team, has signed a letter of intent to continue his career as a student-athlete at NCAA Division II Northwood University in Midland, Mich. next year.

"Northwood has a great campus, and I love the spirt for athletics at the university," Huslig said of his choice. "In addition to that, they have a tremendous standard for academics. I'm really looking forward to joining the team, as well, as they have had great success recently at the conference and national levels."

Huslig has been an integral member of the Owens defense the past two seasons. He started 42 games, including every match his freshman year while talling one goal and three assists over two seasons.

As a sophomore, he tallied one assist and led the team to a 14-7-2 record, which included a Region XII championship game appearance. Furthermore, he helped anchor an Owens defense that produced eight shutouts and 17 games of allowing one goal or fewer. The team finished the season with a 1.13 goals against average.

Huslig joins Bjion Campbell (NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University) as one of two Owens men's soccer players to recently sign with four-year schools.

Northwood University's men's soccer program finished 17-2-1 last year and advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional. Prior to that, they captured the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular season and tournament championships.
