Owens career: In 2003, she collected 57 hits and 31 runs while compiling a .332 batting average. Her postseason honors included being named to the All-OCCAC Academic team.

High School: Sims was a two-time Second Team All-Suburban Lakes League selection, while also earning All-District and First Team and Honorable Mention All-Wood County honors. She was a Second Team All-SLL selection in volleyball and was a member of the National Honor Society and the United States Figure Skating Association.
