2013: After experiencing an injury in the preseason, DeCant finished the season with a .250 batting average, along with one RBI, four runs and a stolen base in 13 games played.

Late in the season, with the pitching staff growing thin, DeCant stepped in during three games and pitched well. In her first game, she tossed 8.2 innings and allowed only eight hits and one unearned run in a 1-0 loss. In 14.1 total innings pitched, she allowed 19 hits, four runs (three earned) and two walks while striking out one. She finished 0-1.

Academically, DeCant earned Exemplary Academic Achievement honors from the NJCAA after earning a 3.63 cumulative GPA. That also earned her a spot on the All-OCCAC Academic Team.

2012: DeCant hit .143 in a reserve role at second base as a freshman. While starting two games and seeing action in 10 games, she had four runs, one home run, one walk and two RBIs. She was a member of the All-OCCAC Academic Team, as well.

Prior to Owens: DeCant was a three-sport athlete at Liberty Center where she also participated in cross country and volleyball. In cross country, she was part of a state runner-up team, while she received Honorable Mention All-Northwest Ohio Athletic League her junior year in softball. Other awards included: Top Offensive Player, Most Stolen Bases and team MVP under coach Brooke Perry. Her greatest personal sports thrills include hitting four home runs her senior year and signing with Owens.

Personal: April is the daughter of Michael and Karla DeCant. She has two sisters, Andrew and Alyssa. Additionally, she has two uncles, Mike and Marv, who played football at the University of Toledo. She is a pre-physical therapist major at Owens.
