Kim Lawson-Miesmer only spent one season with the Owens softball staff, but was a key leader during a season in which the program captured its third straight conference championship.

In 2016, Owens finished 26-14 overall and 10-2 in conference play to captured its third straight title. The team advanced to the Region XII tournament loser's bracket semifinals before falling to Kellogg in eight innings. Freshman pitcher Kailey Minarchick was named the OCCAC Pitcher of the Year after posting a 7-0 record with a 1.00 ERA.

The Lima (OH) Bath High School graduate and former Western Buckeye League (WBL) Player of the Year was a four-year starter in both basketball and softball at NCAA Division II Tiffin University, where she broke the school record for doubles in a season and career as a member of the softball team. She remains in the record books for career doubles, batting average, put outs and fielding percentage.

As a member of the basketball team, she was a member of the program's first national tournament team.

In the time since her playing career, Lawson-Miesmer has coached high school basketball for the past eight years and travel softball for the past two years. She is also currently a transfer advisor at Owens.
